The
stakeholders (beyond
the project beneficiaries) that
are related to and will be involved
in this project are listed below
(along with the reason (s) that make
them target groups and thus, also
eligible to be invited to participate
in the project’s dialogue forum):
The Ministry
for the Environment, Energy and Climate
Change (previously Ministry of
the Environment and Public Works)
and especially the Department of
Air pollution.
Municipalities and Regional Authorities
in the three Urban areas including:
Thessaloniki, Athens,
Volos. More specifically:
1. The Coalition of 21 Local Authorities
of North and East Athens, encompassing
at least one third of the Athens
Metropolitan area
2. The Prefecture
of Magnesia, where Volos is the
capital city
3. The Municipality
of Thessaloniki, the second largest
urban area in Greece
4. The Association
of Motor Vehicles Importers – Representatives,
a stakeholder group where new technology
is planned to result in lower emissions,
with their effects needed to be quantified.
The above have already declared their
intent to follow the results of the
proposed project and can be included
in the Steering Committee.
Other Stakeholders that will be approached
during the project, including large
Industrial and Municipal Organizations,
as well as independent Transport
Service providers are the Metro as
a means of reducing emissions and
New Highway management companies
like Attiki
Odos (the periphery ring road
in Athens) and the equivalent of
these organizations in Thessaloniki.
Apart from the above, target audience
of the project includes the General
public. The project aims to demonstrate
that it is possible to evaluate quantitatively
the results of policies on specific
sources and account for the progress
achieved as a result of certain measures.
On the other hand ineffective measures
can be changed or discarded. The
Policy makers can then win the support
of the public in new measures and
make their implementation more effective.
